
Participants will normally be either practising or aspiring
team leaders with the opportunity to meet the assessment demands,
and have a background that will enable them to benefit from
the programme.

To give practising and potential
team or cell leaders the foundation for their formal development.
The Award is a concise qualification designed to give learners
a basic knowledge of the various roles, functions and responsibilities
of a team leader and the limits of their authority and accountability.
The mandatory unit in Developing yourself as a team
leader is a good starting point for team/cell leaders
who are new to their roles or for
aspiring leaders who wish to gain a solid understanding of
the principles and practicalities of team leading.
The Certificate builds and broadens the skills and knowledge
gained in the Award (please note candidates may join the Certificate
directly and are not required to undertake the Award as a
prerequisite). Here, practical techniques in motivating teams,
plus planning and monitoring their work are explored within
the additional mandatory units of this larger qualification.

Successful participants may benefit from career enhancement
by progressing to:
- the Level 3 Certificate in First Line
Management, or a
- Level 3 S/NVQ in Management depending
upon their circumstances
- another qualification at a suitable
level within or outside the National Qualifications Framework
as appropriate to their needs

Successful completion of the Certificate in Team Leading
provides eligibility for Affiliate membership (AInstLM) of
the Institute of Leadership & Management.

This ILM certified programme offers candidates a choice between
a fully distant learning programme and a blended learning
programme. Both options use the HRD Online learning system
accessed via www.hrdonline.co.uk
To receive the ILM's L2 Award in Team Leading participants
must complete:
- a minimum of 22 learning hours
- a centre assessed reflect review
- a centred assessed knowledge assessment
compromising 20 short-answer questions in examination conditions
at the end of the course
- 1 mandatory unit with a credit value
of 1
- selected optional units with a credit total value of 2
- a minimum of 4 Personal Development
Plans
To receive the ILM's L2 Certificate in Team Leading participants
must complete:
- a minimum of 65 learning hours
- a short, centred assessed presentation
- a centre assessed mini-project
- a centred assessed knowledge assessment
compromising 20 short-answer questions in examination conditions
at the end of the course
- 3 mandatory unit with a credit value
of 4
- selected optional units with a credit total value of 9
- a minimum of 4 Personal Development

their studies, knowledge tests and assignments in a timely
manner, failure to do so may result in programme termination,
