The introductory workshop
provides a thorough introduction to the Certificate programme, ensuring that
students are fully prepared for the course modules and assignments, and able to
make the most of all the resources and support available to them. It will also
cover general aspects of recruitment and selection.

By the end of the workshop, students will be able to:
- identify the key requirements of the Certificate in terms
of the course modules and assessed work
- explore
the external context, internal business needs and the impact of HR upon organisation
success
- describe recruitment and selection
best practice
- apply information systems within
the context or recruitment and selection
- identify
trends and patterns in recruitment and selection processes.
The
structure of the workshop is informal. Students will have the opportunity to network
with fellow students, raise queries and discuss ways to tackle their personal
development plan, assignments and projects.
