Launched in 2006, the Diploma in Sales Coaching is the first
stage for sales managers and coaches on the Pathway to Sales
Professionalism. The Pathway to Sales Professionalism is Irelands
first qualification programme specifically aimed at the sales
professional. Students completing the Institutes programmes
are able to progress through to an Advanced Diploma in Management
Practice (Sales) and onto an MSc in Sales Strategy & Leadership
- the latter two offered by UCD Michael Smurfit Business School.

This qualification is a Special Purpose Award and is recognised
by HETAC (the Higher Education & Training Awards Council)
as fulfilling the requirements of the National Framework for
Qualifications at Level 7 as shown below:

In addition to satisfying the requirements
of the National Framework for Qualifications the Diploma in
Sakes Coaching is recognised across Europe under the European
Credit Transfer System (ECTS).
Entry Requirements
Entry to the programme is open to sales managers
with a minimum of 2 years experience in a sales management
and/ or sales coaching role; or those who have completed the
Certificate in Selling Skills and the Diploma in Selling;
and/ or by having recognition of Accredited Prior Learning
- the student having completed a programme of related studies
matching in part or whole the learning outcomes of the Diploma
in Selling, or the Diploma in Sales Coaching. Where APL matches
in part the Institute may consider requiring the applicant
learner to undertake an element of pre-diploma work.
A typical profile of a learner is someone who has line or
development responsibility for one or more salespeople.
